The Hall of Fame-lock wasn't about to give up the foul ball he snagged at AT&T Park on Monday. Can't say I blame him. I've probably attended 40-50 MLB games and I have yet to snag one. I've had a player at spring training toss me a BP ball, and I've found a practice puck under my seat at a hockey game, but I have yet to get my hands on a batted game ball.
On that fateful day when I finally reel one in, some kid will have to pry it from my cold, dead hand to get it from me.
Book it.

Is it cruel of me to remind you that I have caught a foul ball?? I know you're jealous, especially since it was at a Royals game. :)
I once caught a football at a Vols game - and then made a kid cry after I gloated about it.

I understand your feelings about a major league ball...I've never gotten one either and if the chance comes...
The other day, I was at a high school state championship game, and saw a 50ish guy outrun a couple of 7-8 year olds to a foul ball and then cheer when he got it.
THAT was pretty sad. I mean, it was a high school game. And the ball had been hit by an...aluminum...bat.
When I was a student, a few of us took in a Travs game one night. We took our seats on the first row (third base line) and I found a BP ball under the seat. Later, I had the Travs' third-base coach (obviously, he was also their manager) sign it for me, between innings. He said, "I'm not really supposed to be doing this right now." Then, he jogged over to the coaching box. I knew we had a connection even then.
His name: Jim Riggleman.
Yes, I still have the ball.
